To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee (1 of 1294)

For the books that I've already read I don't have a specific order for my reviews, but I did want to start with one of my favorites.  I don't usually books more than once, but I've read To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee several times, and probably will again.  In my opinion it's just a perfect book, and if you haven't read it I highly recommend it.

To Kill a Mockingbird was published in 1960 and set in Alabama and was told from the point of view of Scout as a young child.  From the adventures with her brother Jem, to her father, a lawyer, defending a black man accused of raping a white girl it always makes me feel good about people when I read it.

Atticus Finch is my favorite character of all-time.  A good father, a good lawyer, who shows his kids the way to do the right thing, even when it is difficult.

Boo Radley is another fascinating character.  The town recluse, whom Scout and Jem try to draw out, and turns out to be not as bad as he seems.

It's one of those books that you can read quickly, and enjoy every minute of it.

My rating: 5 stars
